Make the impossible feel real.

Salvador Dalí treated imagination as a place with no fixed rules. In his world, clocks could melt, bodies could stretch, objects could float and time itself could lose its shape.

He was fascinated by the strange border between waking and dreaming. Dalí famously experimented with falling asleep while holding a metal object, allowing the sound of it dropping to wake him just as he entered a dreamlike state — then returning to the images his mind had just created.

In this workshop, children begin with something equally personal: a dream they remember, a strange image that stayed with them, or an impossible idea that somehow feels completely real.

From there, they explore what happens when ordinary logic disappears. What if time melted? What if something heavy could float? What if an object changed scale, shape or purpose? What if a dream could exist in three dimensions?

The focus is not on reproducing Dalí’s work. It is on giving children permission to trust the most unpredictable part of their imagination — the part that does not need to make sense before it becomes interesting.

Here, they are not waiting for inspiration to arrive from somewhere else. They are the source of it. The stranger the idea, the more possibilities it can open.
