01Workshop

Create a world worth returning to.

Tove Jansson understood that the most unforgettable imaginary worlds feel strangely real. They have weather, silence, friendships, fears, strange creatures, hidden corners and places we somehow want to return to.

In this workshop, children enter that Nordic way of storytelling — where a character is more than how it looks, and a place is more than a background. The sea, an island, a house, a storm or an unexpected visitor can all become part of the story.

Children explore how characters develop personalities, relationships and their own logic — and how one small idea can grow into a universe that continues beyond a single moment. What begins as something strange or completely invented can become a character with a past, a point of view and another story waiting to happen.

The focus is not on reproducing the Moomins. It is on discovering the freedom behind Tove Jansson’s world: tenderness mixed with strangeness, adventure mixed with safety, and the courage to create characters and places that could only have come from your own imagination.
